CSIRO will hold a MINERAL EXPLORATION SEMINAR on Monday the 15th of February at the Australian Resources Research Centre in Perth.

The seminar provides explorers with the latest research into exploration concepts and tools being developed by CSIRO. Presentations will be targeted at Western Australian exploration issues and will cover aspects as diverse as application of Bayesian inversion for AEM data for exploration in regolith dominated terrains to VHMS prospectivity of the Yilgarn and Deep Exploration Technologies CRC visualisation of drill hole data. Registration is $140.  All delegates will be provided with lunch, refreshments and a booklet with important slides from the talks.

Topics will include:

  • High powered AEM and the regolith
  • Geochemical exploration around palaeochannel environments
  • Evidence for SEDEX-style mineralisation in the Tawallah Group, McArthur Basin
  • Utilising drilling fluid analysis for exploration and/or processing
  • Gold in silcrete as a new vector to VMS mineralisation
