On behalf of the AusIMM, the organising committee is proud to present The Third AusIMM International Geometallurgy Conference 2016 (GeoMet 2016).
Geometallurgy reflects a shift towards more efficient project evaluation and optimisation to increase resource sustainability, through the integration of geoscientific and engineering disciplines. It aims to understand orebody variability based on mineralogical, geochemical, lithological and physical data obtained from spatially distributed samples. In addition to the traditional grade block model, models now display the distribution of key parameters throughout the orebody to support mining and metallurgical optimisation.
A key aspect of an effective geometallurgical program are multidisciplinary teams, bringing together geologists, engineers, metallurgists, environmental scientists, mineral economists and risk specialists.
