Our guest speaker

Steve Quane

Dr. Steve Quane specializes in erupted products from volcanoes, how they shape the landscape, and the resulting geohazards. Steve knows and loves the block program. Steve taught at Quest University Canada for 10 years where he developed the earth science curriculum and fostered field trips across disciplines. He has and continues to teach classes for Colorado College and the University of British Columbia. Currently, Steve is the Head Geologist for the Fire & Ice Aspiring Geopark north of Vancouver, BC. In this role he is developing educational materials, curating >70 geosites, and presenting public outreach talks. Steve and the Geopark team have recently applied to UNESCO to become a Global Geopark.
