Management of Petroleum Hydrocarbon Groundwater Contamination

ALGA is pleased to bringing Dr Charles (Chuck) Newell, Vice President of GSI Environmental Inc. in Houston, to east coast Australia to deliver a series of half day workshops on changes taking place in the management of petroleum hydrocarbon contaminated groundwater in the USA.

Each workshop will examine the paradigm shift witnessed in the USA in recent years on the management of organic groundwater contamination, including Light Non-Aqueous Phase Liquid (LNAPL) and Dense Nonaqueous Phase Liquid (DNAPL).

Issues to be addressed by each workshop include:

• Frequently Asked Questions Regarding Monitoring Natural Attenuation (MNA).
• Natural Source Zone Depletion – what is it and methods to measure NSZD.
• New Thinking Behind LNAPL Mobility – LNAPL Transmissivity, LNAPL Tracers

• Integrated DNAPL Management Strategies.
