Tuesday 19 August
Botanic Bar at QUT Gardens Point campus (next to Government House), 5:30 pm for 6:00 pm.
All members (and non-members) are invited to come and join in with students at the Botanic Bar at QUT Gardens Point campus for a night of social splendour and sparkling geological trivia. Bring your knowledge of all matters geological and otherwise, and join the students in a test of skill and cups of tea (not!). The QUT Natural Resource Society are our hosts for the paltry sum of $15/head with a bar tab and food included. Table prizes for those that can impress the judges with their general and geological knowledge. No bribing is allowed unless it is a good one and you can get away with it.
For more information call Rod Carlson (0437 789 240) or Lachlan Smeed (0498 366 741).

The Botanic Bar is situated within the Gardens Point QUT campus and is within walking distance of Brisbane’s CBD and South Bank. This makes it a hub for workers and students alike. This, in fact, is what sets us apart. We have city sensibilities and a fun youthful atmosphere.
The modern décor, river views, as well as the proximity to business and entertainment hubs make it the perfect place to come and unwind after a long day or to just take a break from the daily hustle. The bar boasts a wide range of bottled & draught beer, wine and spirits. If you’re looking for something to whet your whistle, we guarantee you’ll find it here. Come down for a beverage the next time you’ve got a thirst that needs quenching; we guarantee you’ll be coming back.
