Speaker: Anthony Reed, MMG Exploration
3D modelling in general is still in it’s infancy in many facets of the private enterprise world, with many projects being visualised in three dimensions for the first time. The general trend of 3D uptake in exploration is where opportunity exists for massive 3D data analysis and target generation, automating the geologists workflow and speeding up the process orders of magnitude.
Implicit modelling in Leapfrog provides new opportunities for geologists to get dirty again (cerebrally and physically) bucking the trend of letting the PC take over, allowing us to take a more academic approach in order to get the sorely needed edge.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Anthony studied Structural Geology at Monash (Australian Crustal Research Centre), then at ANU (at the Research School of Earth Sciences). He started with Oxiana at Golden Grove Mine in WA in 2006, moved to Melbourne in 2008 and rode the Oxiana/Oz/MMG wave all the way through.
Anthony’s current hats include spatial data management and analysis, project generation GIS and data support, 3D Structural Geologist. Current Implicit Modelling Champion for MMG. His 3D Experience includes Leapfrog Geo, Leapfrog Mining, Discover 3D, Vulcan, Micromine and Gocad.
