Outline
The Mesoproterozoic Hiltaba Event represents a major period of mineralisation, cratonisation and igneous activity in the Gawler Craton, South Australia. This talk by the GSSA’s Dr Megan Williams will provide an overview of the stratigraphy of the Hiltaba Suite, the intrusive component of this event, and the current approach to stratigraphic classification. Particular focus will be given to the mineralogical characteristics which link the intrusive rocks of the Hiltaba Suite and distinguish them from other intrusions in the Gawler Craton.
