AMEC Networking Drinks and CWEDG Technical Meeting
WEDNESDAY 15 May 2024
AMEC Networking Drinks from 5pm, and CWEDG Meeting at 6.30pm
The Long Room, upstairs Hotel Canobolas
248 Summer Street, Orange.
Epithermal Au-Ag
Epithermal Au-Ag deposits formed from near surface to depths of about 1km, although they may simply be regarded
as developed above porphyry Cu-Au level. This talk uses many examples to focus upon the exploration implications
of the differences between epithermal deposit types, as low and high sulphidation types, with varying degrees of
fluid evolution in magmatic arc to back arc (rift) settings, formed at different crustal levels with varying
degrees of preservation. Controls to quality of Au-Ag mineralisation are governed by the interaction of ore type,
which also influences metallurgy, competent host rocks, dilatant structures and mechanisms of Au deposition, etc.
See accompanying extended abstract.
Join us for the meeting, drinks, nibbles and dinner. This event is free for all. Register here: AMEC NSW Networking Drinks in Orange
