This workshop will present fundamental considerations and understandings in carrying out high quality grade estimation in completing a mineral resource estimate. It is designed to provide guidance on setting grade estimation parameters, selecting grade estimation methods, the estimation process, and completing validation of grade estimates.
Workshop outline
The workshop is presented in four modules:
Group interaction and exercises are used to illustrate and reinforce workshop concepts.
Prerequisites
The workshop assumes that participants have a working knowledge of geological data gathering processes and are aware of the required steps in grade estimation. An understanding of statistics and geostatistics is an advantage. The course is not mining software specific.
Who should attend
Geologists who have taken or want to take up roles with a focus on resource estimation.

Presenter biography
Alex’s expertise as a geologist is in geological modelling, resource estimation, statistics, and geostatistics as well as technical audits, reviews, and due diligence. His experience includes exploration, mining, technical support, and consulting across a variety of metal commodities and geological settings.
