About the Presenter
Luke Jackson is a geologist, graduating with honours from the University of Ballarat in 1998. He started his career in mineral sands in the Murray Basin and was involved with the discovery and feasibility studies of the Ginkgo and Snapper Heavy Mineral deposits (now mining). He then moved to WA in 2003 and worked at Eneabba for a short while before taking on UG geology roles initially at Plutonic with Barrick Gold and then as Senior UG geologist at Lawlers. In 2007 Luke decided to try something new in PNG as Senior UG and later Senior OP Geologist at Porgera. In 2011 he moved to Ok Tedi in a residential role as Chief Geologist for three years, before changing gears and having a stint as MD of Deepcore Drilling while completing his MBA at Melbourne University. Luke finished up with Deepcore in early 2016 and is now having a sabbatical building a house in the Macedon ranges.
Luke enjoys the odd marathon or triathlon and as of four weeks ago, now has two young children to entertain with his wife Francine who is also a University of Ballarat Geologist.
The December 2016 AGM and technical meeting is free of charge.
