This workshop is designed for anyone who is currently working in the exploration and mining industry and whose role involves exploration reporting and/or who works with geoscientific data in NSW. The aim is to provide an overview of the different reporting requirements, introduce new online systems designed to assist geoscientists in managing the exploration reporting processes and showcase the vast array of available geological and geoscientific data held by the Geological Survey of NSW, Department of Planning and Environment.

The workshop is designed to be interactive, giving attendees the opportunity to explore the data and online systems under the guidance of the subject matter experts from Geological Survey NSW. It is necessary to bring your own laptop and mouse with scroll wheel.

The workshop will run from 9.30am and will include sessions on:

  • Exploration Environmental Mapping Portal
  • Mining and Exploration Assessment (IMER, ML reporting, data submission)
  • Unlocking data in the DIGS system
  • Using the new MinView application to explore and download geoscience data
  • Explore the Seamless Geology dataset
  • Find Geophysics for your NSW projects
  • Visualising and downloading 3D data
  • Accessing National Virtual Core Library (NVCL) hyperspectral data
