Integrated Spatial Analysis and Remote Sensing of Mineral Exploration Targets

Integrated Spatial Analysis and Remote Sensing of Mineral Exploration Targets

aig_cpdhrs_88Course Presenters:  Dr Arianne Ford (JCU) and Dr Carsten Laukamp (CSIRO)

Twelve Day Course:  18 April – 29 April 2016

  • Module 1 – Spectral Remote Sensing for Mineral Exploration (comprising two course components)
    1. Hands-on workshop with partipants involved in the collection of spectral data using SWIR intruments (specTERRA and PIMA); the interpretation of spectral data; and the application of spectral mineralogy in exploration.
    2. Applications of spaceborne multispectral and airborne radiometric images for the recognition of potentially mineralised terranes.
  • Module 2  – GIS-Based Mapping of Mineral Prospectivity
Linear methods (e.g. weights of evidence modelling) and non-linear methods (e.g. Dempster-Shafer belief functions) for the analysis and integration of layers of spatial geo-exploration datasets for the conceptual and predictive mapping of mineral prospectivity.
