Natural Gas from shale or tight rock: Industry Experience in WA

Natural gas (from shale, tight rock or coals seam) in Australia has received much attention. Last year’s forum focused on the regulatory framework and social and environmental risk around the extraction of natural gas from shale or tight rock. This forum will explore the experiences in WA.

ALGA (the Australian Land and Groundwater Association)  invites AIG Members to come and listen to thoughts and opinions from a range of expert stakeholders on this fascinating topic.

The forum will feature presentations from:

  • Dr Damian Ogburn – Chief Scientist with Buru Energy;
  • Dale Park – President of the WA Farmers Federation; and
  • Paul McLeod – Founder of Collaborate West, a consulting firm that specialises in social risk analysis and management using a range of collaborative techniques.

The presentations will be followed by a Q&A panel session, giving forum attendees an opportunity to debate and delve further into the issues raised by the presenters.

As always, drinks and nibbles will be provided during networking sessions before and after the forum.
