GSA Queensland Division Technical Talk to be presented by Prof Annette Goetz (Keele University, UK).
Prof Goetz was recently appointed as Professor of Geology and joined the School of Physical and Geographical Sciences at Keele University in September 2015.
She holds an MSc (1992) and a PhD (1995) from Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany, both of which focused on carbonate sedimentology and micropalaeontology. Before joining Keele University she worked as Associate Professor at Halle University and TU Darmstadt focussing on energy-related research with special emphasis on geothermal energy.
From 2007 till 2008 she also held the position as Managing Director of the TU Darmstadt Energy Center and served as referee for the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Germany from 2009 till 2010. She then spent some years in South Africa teaching at Rhodes University and the University of Pretoria as Professor of Sedimentology and Energy Resources.
