Update on the Certification of Site Contamination Practitioners Scheme

ALGA’s Sydney Branch are presenting an update on the Certification of Site Contamination Practitioners Scheme.

CRC CARE is developing a certification scheme that provides a professional industry standard for site contamination industry practitioners. Development of the scheme is progressing and a discussion paper has just been released with additional details about the scheme and its processes.

The scheme will affect everyone in the site contamination industry with implications for all stakeholders. It is essential for the scheme to address the needs of stakeholders, and this is a great opportunity to get the latest news on the proposed scheme and provide feedback. Other similar schemes are currently being proposed by Soil Science Australia and the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand. This provides further food for an interesting discussion.

ALGA invites you to come and participate in this event. The forum will feature presentations from:

Dennis Monahan – CRC CARE

Dennis will cover major elements of the recently released discussion paper and answer questions about the scheme and how it relates to alternative schemes.

Michael Dunbavan – Coffey Environments

Michael will present on behalf of the ACLCA providing a consultant’s and site auditor’s perspective on the proposed scheme(s).

Erwin Benker – Forum Chair – NSW EPA

The presentations will be followed by a Q&A panel session, giving forum attendees an opportunity to raise issues and/or debate issues raised by the presenters. John Coffey from the NSW EPA will also participate in the panel session to answer questions relating to regulation.
